Application Requirements
Study Abroad Duration
U.S. middle and high schools cover grades 7-12, equivalent to Grade 6 through the final year of high school in China. Therefore, students in China from Grade 6 to the second year of high school are eligible to apply for study in the U.S.
GPA Grade
A GPA above 3.0 (out of 4.0) is generally required, with top 30 schools often requiring at least a 3.5.
Language Proficiency Tests
For language proficiency tests, options include SLEP, TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test.
Standardized Tests
Top 30 schools typically require a TOEFL iBT score of 100 or above, or an equivalent IELTS score.
School Interview
Applying for high school study in the U.S. almost always requires an interview. Interviews can be conducted in person, by phone, or via video call.
